California charges a $75 recording fee (up to $225) on documents recorded against real estate. This fee applies to almost every document unless it fits one of a few specific exceptions below. Read the options and pick the one that matches your situation.

Copy it word for word, including middle names, initials, punctuation, and phrases like "as joint tenants" or "as trustee of." Do not correct or shorten anything, even if it looks wrong.

For example: a maiden name, a misspelling, a deceased person still listed, a trust that was later changed. Describe what you see. We will not change anything without your direction.

PLEASE MAKE SURE SELECT AND DO NOT SKIP.

Spell each name exactly as it should appear in the public record.

A PCOR must be filed with your deed, or the County charges an added fee at recording. The PCOR is your statement to the Assessor, signed by you. We type it from your answers — we cannot decide its content.

This statement will help Tax Assessor determine your exclusion/reassessment.

Select this only if you would like to claim for the exclusion such as Parent-child, Grandparent-grandchild, Seniors and Severely Disabled Persons.

These are the exclusions in the State Board of Equalization's Proposition 19 Fact Sheet, Publication 801 (rev. 6-25) — a government publication linked on our website. We show you the published list as factual information.

Check what you have or will send. We cannot complete your documents without the ones that apply to your matter.
